Bread

I can't say that I have had much luck in the baking department. I try... anything I try with angel food cake always goes flat or falls! I can manage cookies that are considered homemade but are prepackaged, just add eggs, water and margarine (or oil)!

I did try making an homemade blueberry pie from scratch once... Meh! Next time I will forego making the pie crust from scratch ;) And it would probably have helped if I had the right utensils like an actual pie plate!

Bread I'm willing to keep trying as so far I have had more positive then negative experiences.

My personal favorite is:

Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread

This one is liked by both my husband and my son:

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

This is good in the summer for picnics at the park and was a hit with my son:

Garlic Cheese Flatbread

What I make the most is a version of this one:

Whole Wheat Baguette

I have cut the ingredients to only make one loaf

3/4 cup warm water
1/2 tablespoon of instant yeast
1/2 tablespoon of salt
2 cups of flour

I sometimes do 1 cup of white and 1 cup of whole wheat or all whole wheat. I think the rule of thumb is to adjust how much water when using whole wheat so I add 1 cup to start then go from there. Adding more while kneading.

I usually add about 1/4 cup of flax seeds and/or sunflower seeds after I add the first cup of flower.

This is all whole wheat with flax seeds. One of my better loafs!

I pretend kneading dough as a mini work out session. Who am I kidding... It is!
